Theo’s workshop looks at the video game ‘Animal Crossing’, and its fandom wiki entry ‘Pitfall Seed’: when pitfalls are buried and walked upon, the player or villager will fall into the pit and display the shocked emotion. Drawing upon this Theo reflects on the kafkaesque humour or reverse logic of a seed producing loss rather than abundance. The notion of surrealism, or making a normal thing strange will be explored via different methods of drawing - combining different pre-existing images, tracings and turning subject matter inside out.
